The Job Request
Shepherd Hills Commons is a large-scale apartment complex consisting of 271 residential units. The majority of the units are townhomes grouped into buildings of approximately 10 to 15 units, along with two 50-unit apartment buildings. The property also includes a clubhouse featuring a pool, golf simulator, and common gathering areas. Our team provided all electrical work across the entire development, including power distribution, lighting, equipment connections, camera wiring, and the installation of microducts to allow fiber to be pulled into each unit. This project is one example of the large-scale electrical work in Rapid City and the surrounding Black Hills that Wires R Us delivers from start to finish.
Challenges
Due to the size and duration of the project, consistency, scheduling, and quality control were critical. With high unit volume, it was essential to maintain tight schedules, meet deadlines, and minimize mistakes to avoid callbacks. Coordinating work across multiple buildings and phases required careful planning and clear communication throughout the project.
